Miyumi’s ears are ringing because Maliik is talking about her and it’s being broadcast for the whole school to hear. Miyumi is partially annoyed because she has a fear of being a stereotype…but also because she is on a top secret mission that we’ll learn more about tomorrow.

Miyumi’s chapters all start out with “Today’s Adventure” because for her every day is an adventure. Also it’s a nod to one of my favorite TV shows The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
