I fell in love with the idea that Melora and Hakata would meet in a neutral location and hit it off before eventually discovering they will be competitors later in the story (oops! I guess that’s a spoiler!). I always loved that scene in Batman Returns where Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle are dancing and suddenly realize that they are each others’ enemy. “Oh, God…Does this mean we have to start fighting?”
